A POLICE presence was spotted at a busy road junction in Warrington at rush hour.
Three police cars, with blue flashing lights activated, attended Bridge Foot yesterday afternoon, Thursday.
This was after Cheshire Police received reports of concern for the welfare of a woman on the bridge over the River Mersey.
In a statement this afternoon, Friday, the force has confirmed that officers spoke to the woman and thankfully led her to safety.
A spokesman for Cheshire Police said: “At 5.30pm on Thursday, September 12, police were called to reports of concerns for the welfare of a woman on Bridge Foot, Warrington.
“Police attended and engaged with the woman, who was taken to a place of safety.”
