A PAEDOPHILE who possessed more than 100 indecent images of children for nearly a decade has been spared jail.
Liam Findon appeared at Liverpool Crown Court on Wednesday for his sentencing.
The 28-year-old was charged with possessing indecent images of children (IIOC) and three counts of making IIOC in Warrington between May 2015 and February 2023.
Making IIOC can include downloading an image from a website onto a computer screen, accessing a pornographic website in which the images appeared by ‘pop-up’ or live-streaming images of children.
Prosecuting, Helen Chenery explained that Findon, of Cheviot Cresent in Wishawill in Scotland, was found to have 130 images on his devices.
Of these, 35 of them were graded as category A – which is the most severe rating and includes child rape.
A further 32 images were rated as category B, and the remaining 63 were in category C.
Findon was sentenced by Judge David Swinnerton to 12 months imprisonment, suspended for two years. He must also complete 30 rehabilitation activity days and 100 hours unpaid work.
In addition, it was ordered that Findon abides by sex offender register for 10 years, and the terms of a sexual harm prevention order for the same period.
