TRAFFIC is at a standstill on the M6 in Warrington after a collision ahead of rush hour.

All four lanes of traffic on the M6 northbound are being held after a crash occurred involving a number of vehicles this afternoon, Wednesday.

The collision took place between junction 20, M56 Lymm Interchange, and junction 21, Woolston and delays are expected for the next hour.

Three lanes were closed while the incident was dealt with, but now all traffic is being held while the vehicles are cleared.
