POLICE have confirmed that they have received a report of a person being assaulted by a group at a petrol station.
A Cheshire Police presence was spotted at Lymm services, at junction 20 of the M6, at around 4pm on Saturday afternoon.
The complainant told police that they challenged a child they had reportedly witnessed urinating on the side of the service station.
They further alleged that after doing so, they were assaulted in the form of having water thrown at them.
Cheshire Police has confirmed that it is investigating the incident, and although no arrests have been made, enquiries are ongoing.
A spokesman for Cheshire Police said: “At 3.58pm on Saturday, August 31, police were called to reports of a section 39 assault at Lymm service station.
“The victim reported that they had witnessed a child who was urinating against the side of the service station.
“After going to speak to the child, the victim was approached by a group of men who surrounded them and threw water at them.
“No arrests have been made at this time and enquiries are ongoing.”
