EMERGENCY services were called to the scene of a crash after a car hit a lamppost.
A Vauxhall Astra crashed into a lamppost on Vista Road, Newton-le-Willows yesterday evening, Monday.
Police, fire and rescue crews and an ambulance rushed to the scene after the collision.
One casualty injured in the crash was taken to hospital for further assessment.
A police spokesman said they suffered a 'minor injury'.
A Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: "We attended an incident on Vista Road, Newton-le-Willows, on the evening of Monday, August 26.
"Crews were alerted at 7.25pm and on scene at 7.27pm, with one fire engine attending.
"This was a one-vehicle road traffic collision with a lamppost. The vehicle was on all four wheels and one casualty involved was conscious and breathing."
They added: "North West Ambulance Service attended and conveyed the casualty to hospital for further assessment.
"St Helens Borough Council was contacted due to the impact on street lighting.
"Crews left the incident with Merseyside Police and left the scene at 7.49pm."
A Merseyside Police spokesman confirmed officers attended a 'minor-injury RTC' with 'one car involved', a Vauxhall Astra, which was in collision with a lamppost.
