A WOMAN has been named by police after being charged with assaulting police officers.
A large police presence was reported on Broadbent Avenue in Latchford on Tuesday night.
Officers attending reports of a disturbance were allegedly kicked, punched and spat at.
A suspect has now been charged and is set to appear in court to face the allegations next month.
A spokesman for Cheshire Police said: “At around 11pm on Tuesday, August 20, police were called to reports of a disturbance on Broadbent Avenue, Warrington.
“Officers attended and arrested a 34-year-old man from Eccles and a 26-year-old woman from Warrington.
“Megan Watson, of Grasmere Avenue, Orford, has since been charged with possession of cannabis, and three counts of assault of an emergency worker.
“Watson has been bailed to next appear at Warrington Magistrates' Court on Wednesday 18 September.
“The man has since been released with no further action to be taken.”
