UPDATES have been provided on two unauthorised traveller caravan camps in the town – as yet another is reported.

Yesterday, Monday, it was reported that caravans had pitched up without permission on sites in Great Sankey and Risley.

This is according to an unauthorised encampment log for Cheshire and Warrington operated by Cheshire West and Chester Council.

Both encampments were uploaded onto the log by the Cheshire and Warrington Traveller Team yesterday afternoon.

The first encampment was at United Utilities, based at Lingley Mere Business Park in Great Sankey.

Five caravans and associated towing vehicles pitched up without permission, having arrived on Friday.

The second site where an unauthorised encampment was reported was Silver Lane in Risley.

The location has been the subject of a number of caravan incursions over recent years, with three caravans and towing vehicles pitching up there on Saturday.

Now, this afternoon, Tuesday, the log confirms that vehicles have vacated both premises.

However, a new encampment has been reported at Bowood Court, off Calver Road at Winwick Quay

Two caravans and towing vehicles pitched up at the privately-owned site yesterday, with the log stating that bailiffs are to be instructed to ensure vehicles leave.
