A WARRINGTON school has been named one of the best state schools in Britain.

With results published for both high schools and colleges across the country this week and next, experts have revealed in a Daily Mail top 100 list which taxpayer funded schools are the best.

The DM stated in the recent article that ‘the current average percentage of pupils in England who achieve Grade 5 or above in English and maths GCSEs is 45 per cent. But Britain's best state-funded providers often achiever way above higher than this’.

Consulting the experts at the Good Schools Guide and analysing GCSE results from previous years as well as extracurricular activities and class sizes, Daily Mail have accumulated a list of the best 100 schools in the country.

For English schools, last year’s GCSE results were analysed, rather than A-Levels, as ‘these are the only consistent results published annually’.

Entering the list in 63rd place is Lymm High School.

DM stated that ‘almost 85 per cent of students got 9-4 grades in at least five subjects in 2023.

The paper named the school alumni’s to include actor Tim Curry and geneticist Sir David Hopwood.

Today, Thursday, Lymm will see its sixth form students receive their A-Level results.

With the sixth form recently being graded as Outstanding by Ofsted during an inspection this year.

Further results for GCSE students will follow the week after.
