MOSTYN Estates have confirmed they do "have plans" for a former farm park.

The property management company made the admission after people's  curiosity was piqued by the arrival of a new wooden sign at the entrance of the closed Bodafon Farm Park.

Llandudno's Bodafon Farm Park opened to visitors for a final time on Sunday, September 24 2023 after two decades. On its Facebook page, hours now state 'permanently closed.'

A spokesperson for Mostyn Estates said: "The erection of the new signage at the Bodafon Farm entrance is one of many works being undertaken to improve the overall appearance of the site. As the sign states, Bodafon Farm Park itself is temporarily closed to the public.

"We're pleased that the Owl's Trust have continued to commit to Bodafon and provide a remarkable sanctuary for the species.

"Bodafon Fields will also see the return of the popular annual events, the Llandudno Transport Festival and International Gandeys Circus at the end of May so we expect to see plenty of activity.

"Neighbouring the site, the RNLI will host their Lifeboat Open Day in August which celebrates their 200th year of establishment. Additionally, we're sure that despite delays, on reopening, the Craig Y Don paddling pool will once again become a significant focal point for activity on the promenade.

"As to the future, we will be making an announcement at the appropriate point but needless to say we have plans for the farm park."

Before leaving the site, former Bodafon Farm Park owner Mark Roberts, who also runs the Penrhyn Arms, told the Pioneer that he hoped Bodafon Farm Park could remain as "some sort of family oriented business."

He said: "I don’t know if it will, but I think there is a good chance as it does lend itself for doing that.

"People are probably worrying a bit much, especially those that think when I go the bulldozers are going to move in. That is not the case."

Mark left the farm because the lease with property management company Mostyn Estates had come to an end. Mark had also decided to semi-retire.
