THE ROADS in Wrexham where you are most likely to get a parking ticket have been revealed. 

Information supplied by Wrexham Council following a Freedom of Information request has revealed the top 10 roads in the county borough where the most parking tickets were issued last year. 

Croesnewydd Road came out well and truly on top (325), 143 tickets more than the second highest road. 

The full list is as follows: 

1. Croesnewydd Road – 325
2. Yorke Street – 182
3. Egerton Street – 165
4. High Street (Wrexham) -139
5. Priory Street – 119
6. Duke Street (Wrexham) -108
7. Regent Street- 96
8. King Street – 93
9. Rhosddu Road – 71
10. Chester Street – 68

Penalty Charge Notices are issued when drivers break parking regulations, such as by parking on double yellow lines or on a single yellow line at a prohibited time.

A spokesperson for the Local Government Association, who represent councils in England and Wales, said: “Income raised through on-street parking charges and parking fines is spent on running parking services.

"Any surplus is spent on essential transport projects, including fixing the £11 billion road repairs backlog, reducing congestion, tackling poor air quality and supporting local bus services."
