A SUPERMARKET has been evacuated this evening after a fire broke out inside.
The incident led to Merseyside Fire & Rescue Service being at Morrisons supermarket on Boundary Road, St Helens.
Crews were alerted at 7.36pm and three fire engines were on the scene shortly afterwards.
An industrial oven was involved in the fire and a "full store evacuation" was carried out.
Crews used fire extinguishers to control the fire in the ducting, a Merseyside Fire & Rescue Service statement read.
The statement continued: "The oven fire has now been extinguished and crews are checking for fire spread in the surrounding area.
"Temperature checks are being conducted regularly and staff members are being allowed back in unaffected areas of the store."
There have been no reports of anyone being injured at this stage.
