SIX vehicles were involved in two separate crashes within minutes of each other on the M56.
Both accidents occurred on Friday afternoon, with the first occurring on the westbound carriageway near to junction 11 for Daresbury and Preston Brook.
At 4.47pm, four cars were involved, although thankfully, no serious injuries were reported.
Four minutes later, another collision occurred heading eastbound involving a car and a lorry – and again, thankfully, serious injury is believed to have been avoided.
A spokesman for Cheshire Police said: “At 4.47pm on Friday, November 17, police were called to reports of a collision on the M56 westbound between junctions 11 and 12.
“Officers attended and found the collision involved four vehicles – a white Tesla, a grey Vauxhall Zafira, a black Mercedes C300 and a grey Vauxhall Corsa.
“There were no reports of any serious injuries and the scene was cleared by 7.17pm.”
They also said: “At 4.51pm on Friday, November 17, police were called to reports of a collision on the M56 eastbound near to junction to 12.
“Officers attended and found the collision involved two vehicles – a car and a lorry in lane two.
“There were no reports of any serious injuries and the scene was cleared by 5.45pm.”
