AN 86-year-old died after a routine procedure at Warrington Hospital, an inquest opening heard.
Senior Coroner Jacqueline Devonish adjourned an inquest into the sad death of William Pownall.
William, of Forbes Close in Birchwood, attended Warrington General Hospital on November 5 for a ‘routine procedure’ which went to plan.
Shortly after, while waiting in the recovery room he began to feel unwell.
He eventually had to be admitted to the intensive care unit of the hospital and later died.
Due to the unnatural cause of death, Coroner Devonish adjourned the case for an inquest on June 24, 2024.
