A POPULAR town centre bakery has officially moved location.
Mamars was based in the Old Bank on Bridge Street but it has now moved into its new home in The Hive.
The Hive is one of the town’s most iconic buildings. It is the former TJ Hughes and Co-op on Sankey Street and Cairo Street.
Mamars joins a number of other businesses in The Hive, including Black Sheep Coffee, Pendergast Steakhouse and Sky Garden.
The artisan bakery and delicatessen announced the news that it was closing in September.
It said the relocation was due to its old site being ‘massive’ and that costs were not coming down.
However owners said they did love the Old Bank site.
Mamars will continue to bake fresh bread and sell artisan cheese, meats, and deli, as well as beer, coffee, and wine.
In its new home, there is seating for around 35 people day-to-day and up to 50 for events and private/community hire.
