AN education awards is calling on schools and colleges in St Helens to apply.

Educate Awards is returning for its twelfth year, with 19 categories available to enter.

The awards shine a spotlight on schools, academies, and colleges to give them recognition.

All 19 categories have a criteria to meet and look for schools demonstrating an 'outstanding commitment' in specific areas including literacy, performing arts, and sports.

Kim O'Brien, founder of Educate Awards, said: "Each year we see entries from across the North West, but we are eager to hear from schools and colleges in St Helens.

"Our goal is to spread awareness of the awards in St Helens so they can be in with a chance of winning.

"There are so many fantastic things happening across schools and colleges in this area, and we want to hear about them.

"The awards are about so much more than winning; they are a celebration of education in all its forms.

"We bring together schools, academies, and colleges across the region to share each other’s success and achievements."

The annual awards will return to Liverpool Cathedral on Friday, November 17.

The evening will feature a jam-packed programme with special performances from schools in the region.
