CYCLISTS and motorists have been warned of a ‘sinkhole’ on a road in Appleton.
The hole on Red Lane, which has reportedly already resulted in a number of cyclists falling off their bikes, was spotted last Thursday.
Cones have now been put in place near Birchdale Road to prevent any further problems.
Councillor for the Stockton Heath ward Judith Wheeler has warned road users to be careful.
She added: “Local PCSO Matt has just been out to have a look and put some more cones there but it is making driving more difficult.
“Warrington Borough Council has been informed.”
A spokesperson for Appleton Police added: “Cyclists and road users please be aware there is a Sinkhole on Red Lane opposite Birchdale Road, Appleton.”
