EVER-popular markets are coming back to Great Sankey this weekend.

The markets, organised by Independent Street, will return to the Woodlands pub on Saturday, April 15.

Featuring more than 70 vendors at the markets, there promises to be something for everyone - whether that's food and drink, liqueurs, or even handmade jewellery.

There may be some familiar faces in attendance at the event, including Woolston-based distillery Riverside Spirits, which recently won big at an international spirits competition.

Included at the markets will be live music, as well as arts and crafts, and face painting to keep the smaller guests happy.

Lisa Cowley, of Independent Street, said: "What an incredible day we have planned for you.

"We will be packed to the rafters with more than 70 sellers of the very best local drink, art, craft and street food, featuring local crafters and many small independent producers.

"From freshly baked bread to awesome pies to Indian delicacies, vegan and veggie bites, wood-fired pizzas, cheeky tipples to chutneys and pasta sauces."

Lisa added: "If you love the quirky, the unusual, the unexpected and an amazing lineup of food sensations and arts and craft inspiration then this is the event for you!"

The markets are free to enter, and they are also dog-friendly, too.

Great Sankey's artisan markets will be held at the Woodlands Pub, off Liverpool Road, on Saturday, April 15, from 10am until 4pm.
