LATCHFORD'S Pizza Hut Delivery store has come under fire after it delivered a pizza with pork products to a Muslim family.

The incident took place on Thursday, January 19.

Speaking to the Warrington Guardian, Mahtab Alam explained what happened in detail, and how it has impacted his family.

Mahtab said that it was his son's birthday, and they had decided to order pizza from the well-known chain, which is their local branch.

He ordered three pizzas as part of a deal for around £30, including one margherita, and two vegetarian sizzler pizzas - the receipt of this order has been seen by the Warrington Guardian.

According to Mahtab, despite living barely 10 minutes away from the Latchford store, the pizzas arrived after more than an hour of waiting, having placed the order at around 6.30pm, and receiving the delivery at 7.40pm.

However, due to the long wait, Mahtab headed to the store himself to collect his order, rather than wait for a delivery driver - when he arrived, he was told his order was already out for delivery, so he rushed back home.

In the rush to serve up the pizzas to his hungry family, Mahtab ate two slices whilst dishing up food to the rest of the house - when, to his horror, his wife pointed out that one of the pizzas did not look vegetarian.

Unbeknownst to him, Pizza Hut Delivery had sent the wrong pizza, wrongly delivering a meat feast - with chicken, beef, and bacon on - to his house.

Mahtab said: "Being a Muslim, consuming pork is one of the worst sins you can commit.

"We have no space for forgiveness, and now we feel violated."

The Latchford father added: "The kind of blunder they made by serving a non-vegetarian pizza with pork to a Muslim family is morally and ethically wrong.

"They have contaminated our family and our house."

Speaking to the Warrington Guardian, a Pizza Hut spokesperson did not deny what Mahtab said.

The spokesperson said: "We have been made aware of an issue with one of our delivery orders at our Latchford Hut.

"At Pizza Hut, providing the best experience for our customers is our utmost priority, so we are currently investigating this matter and working closely with the customer and Hut to resolve this."
