A WARRINGTON woman has 'braved the shave' to fundraise for a charity based in the town.
Liz Cowan, from Appleton, fundraised for JUMP Children's Charity by completing a sponsored hair shave.
The event took place at the end of July, but Liz's fundraising page is still open - and she's completely smashed her target.
Initially, Liz set out to raise £350, but her fundraiser for JUMP is now sitting at £1,995.
JUMP is a children's charity based in Warrington, and it was created in 2004 following the death of Jacob Hawthorne, a young boy from the town.
The charity supports children with life-limiting health conditions, and their families, by giving them the chance to create memories through photography and film.
Liz, a children's physiotherapist, said: "I have been aware of JUMP Children’s Charity for many years and think it has grown into a wonderful legacy for Jacob; I poignantly remember the day when my head physio at the time, Carole, came into the office and shared the sad news that Jacob had died.
"If by shaving my head I can raise some money to help other families in their time of need, then so be it!"
The shave took place at The Original Barbershop in Stockton Heath.
Harriet Pratt, from JUMP, said: "We think that Liz looks fantastic!
"She has smashed her original target of £350, her Localgiving page has currently raised £1,995."
