‘SOUND OF the 60s’ will make its unprecedented return to Warrington
BBC Radio 2 DJ, Tony Blackburn will be taking his popular radio show on tour yet again due to popular demand, transporting audiences back to the Iconic swinging 60s.
The show, which will take place at Parr Hall on Thursday, February 9, will feature Tony alongside the ‘Sounds of the 60s All Star Band and Singers’ as they take you on journey through the classics.
Tony, who famously became the first Radio 1 DJ to present the breakfast show when it launched in 1967, will feature anecdotes and his fondest memories throughout the show from the era that ‘made’ and ‘defined’ him.
The show last toured in 2019 and became a hit with audiences and fans of the well-loved Radio 2 show which more than a million tune into each week.
The 79-year-old expressed his joy to be back on tour saying: “I’m absolutely thrilled that the Sounds of the 60s live tour has proved so popular and that we’re in a position to extend the run. It’s proof that the music of the 60s is as loved now as it was back then.”
