FIREFIGHTERS were called to an incident in Fairfield last night, Tuesday.
This follows reports of what some residents described as an 'explosion'.
Two crews, one from Warrington and one from Birchwood, tackled a fire on Willis Street at around 6pm.
In breathing apparatus, the firefighters used a hose reel jet to put out the blaze.
They then removed all debris from the road and checked a nearby property for heat damage.
There were no casualties reported.
