WARRINGTON Wolves' place in Super League 2023 would look to be virtually secured by a win against Toulouse Olympique at The Halliwell Jones Stadium tomorrow night.

This is possibly Wolves' biggest game since their relegation scrap of 20 years ago.

A victory for Daryl Powell's side would leave them six points clear of the bottom-of-the-table French club with four games remaining.

Toulouse would then have to win at least three of their remaining matches, significantly improve their points difference and The Wire not win or draw again for Olympique to finish above them.

Sylvain Houles' side are yet to win an away game in their first season of Super League and four of their last five games are on the road.

So if The Wire, currently third from bottom, win tomorrow, Toulouse would need at least three wins from their fixtures at Wigan, Hull, St Helens and home to Catalans – three of which are top-four sides.

And they would need Warrington not to pick up any more points in their remaining games away to Leeds, home to Castleford, away to Huddersfield and away to Salford.

Warrington Guardian:

However, everything changes if Toulouse are triumphant at The HJ Stadium.

They would be level on points with second-from-bottom Wakefield Trinity, before the Yorkshire side's Round 23 home meeting with Wigan on Sunday, and only two points adrift of The Wire.

The pressure would then be on Powell's men to win a couple of their last four games to be absolutely certain of not finishing the season in bottom place and dropping into the Championship.

Wakefield currently need at least one more win, and possibly a draw due to points difference, to finish above Warrington.

So it is simple, tomorrow night's clash is arguably Warrington's biggest game for 20 years and a 'must-win' game for both clubs.
