POLICE have issued a CCTV image of a man that they would like to speak to following an assault on door staff in Warrington.

At around 9.40pm on Saturday, July 30, two door staff, a man and a woman, were outside The Club Burtonwood on Phipps Lane when they spoke to a man.

He became verbally abusive before striking both to the face and fleeing the area of the social club in the direction of the Co-Op convenience store.

The door staff sustained minor injuries as a result of the incident.

Officers are now appealing to anyone who may be able to identify the man to come forward.

PC Vicky Taylor said: “There would have been many people in and around the venue at the time of the incident, and we are doing all we can to find the person responsible.

“Thankfully, the victims only sustained minor injuries and were able to continue with their work.

“There are a number of enquiries underway, and as part of these we are issuing an image of a man that we would like to speak to, as we believe he will be able to assist us with our investigation.

“If you recognise him, or you are the man himself, please come forward.

“We are also appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or may have dashcam footage in the area around the time of the assault to get in touch with us.”
