NO matter what happens from here on, Warrington Wolves will end their 2022 season with a losing record in the regular Super League programme.

That is to say The Wire will have lost more games than they have won over the course of 27 rounds.

This damning statistic was confirmed with the loss suffered at Huddersfield Giants on Saturday.

That was their 14th loss of the league season, with only seven wins achieved and six rounds still to play starting at Wigan Warriors tomorrow night.

It is the first time The Wire have lost more than they have won since 2017 but the 11th time in the Super League era, which goes back to 1996.

Wolves need one more win to avoid their joint worst Super League season in terms of number of victories.

They are currently tied on seven wins with the 2002 and 1998 campaigns.

Warrington's current figures for 2022 – won 7, lost 14.
