A POPULAR pub in Great Sankey was opened by an Olympian after a £100,000 refurbishment.
The Trigger Pond was reopened on Friday, July 22 by judo champion Lucy Renshall.
The refresh involved a newly-designed bar area, a new menu and it has created five new jobs.
It has been dubbed ‘a modern take on the traditional community pub’.
Karina Rogers, general manager of the pub for three years, said: “This is such an exciting moment for the Trigger Pond, a great step forward with our fantastic new menu and great new look.
“We have an exciting range of cocktails and drinks but we also want to provide a great experience for our guests to remember.
“We have a fantastic team here and we’re a great pub, with great food and are here to be the heart of the community.”
