A CHARITY music festival is set to return to Great Sankey this summer, following great success last year.

'Crosfest' was established in 2021 to help fundraise for Crosfield's ARFLC, in Great Sankey.

It's set to return to the area on Saturday, 27 August - which was chosen because it's one of the few weekends that the club is not hosting rugby.

Peter Aramayo is one of the organisers of the event, he said: "We've always put acts on in the club, but we thought 'Perhaps we can go bigger than that'."

The event has a capacity of 500, and last year it ended up raising over £3,500 for the club - and that's without accounting for the money made at the bar.

According to Crosfest's website: "There will be various food outlets to make sure you don’t go hungry and a sweet stall so that you can spoil yourself on what will hopefully be a sunny Bank Holiday weekend.

"There will be four bars to ensure that you are served at the quickest opportunity."

Peter said that there will be a team of volunteers on the day: "We've got some security staff, too - but last year there wasn't so much as an argument.

"It was a really nice, enjoyable day."

The festival promises something for everyone, with four of this year's acts returning from last year - with an Elvis tribute taking one of the performance slots!
