AN under 18s club event will be taking place at The Brass Monkey to provide the youth in Warrington with an experience of how it felt to be part of the glory days at junior club events in years gone by.

The events are still spoken about fondly so the bar and club, based on Cairo Street, has put together another event for the youth of today.

A spokesperson for the event said: “We wanted to offer the town’s youth something a little extra than what they are used to.

“We remember Junior World, Kiddie Smiths and I was a big part in Junior Halo when the venue was still around so we wanted to provide some of that for today’s youth as there isn’t anything available like that for them.

“So we came up with Lockoff, a night dedicated to the children of Warrington and surrounding areas, where they can enjoy themselves in a safe, secure and supervised environment from 5pm - 9pm.

“We hosted the first event on June 22 at The Brass Monkey after working closely with the police and council taking all advice seriously and it was a smashing success and there were no incidents.”

After the successful event, it will now take place as a monthly event and the next date will be Wednesday, July 20 with a neon and UV party theme.

“The youngsters were literally asking for the next date straight away, so we decided to launch the night as a monthly event.

“We feel that it is majorly important to keep the youth of today occupied with as much as we possibly can in order to distract from crime and antisocial behaviour as well as giving them something to look forward to regularly.”
