CONFIRMED cases of coronavirus have caused the temporary closure of a popular coffee shop.
R'teapot, an independent coffee and sandwich store based in Padgate, informed customers on social media that it will be shut until early next week after staff tested positive.
As well as speciality coffees and fresh sandwiches, the Green Lane shop sells cakes, treats, milkshakes and artwork by local creatives.
The owners say the safety of staff and customers must come first, with the unit undergoing a deep clean before it reopens again.
Posting on social media this morning, the business said: “Unfortunately, two members of staff have tested positive for Covid last night.
“So, the decision has been made to close the shop until Tuesday, July 5, next week to ensure other staff do not develop any symptoms and pass them onto customers.
“Being a small business, every trading day counts, but staff and customer welfare must come first.
“Please all share this post so nobody has a wasted journey.
“The shop, before reopening, will be subject to a deep clean. Thanks in advance for your understanding.”
