A MAN has been taken to hospital after being hit by a police car.
The incident happened late last night, Thursday, and a heavy police presence was reported outside Sainsbury's on Church Street at the time.
At around 11pm, officers were responding to a report for ‘the concern to safety on a carriageway’.
But while on Manchester Road, a police vehicle was involved in a crash with a pedestrian.
A 19-year-old man from Warrington was taken to hospital as a result with minor injuries.
One passer-by said there were around 10 police officers at the scene – as well as a number of police vehicles and an unmarked police car.
