THE police helicopter was called out in the early hours of this morning after a burglary.

Officers were called to a break-in on Manchester Road at around midnight, with three men subsequently arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary after a search was carried out with the assistance of the chopper.

They remain in custody this afternoon, Friday.

A Cheshire Police spokesman said: “At around 12am on Friday, June 24, officers were called to reports of an aggravated burglary in the Manchester Road area of Warrington.

“Officers attended the scene and made a search of the area with assistance from the police helicopter.

“Two men from Romford, aged 35 and 45, and one man aged 31, from Skelmersdale, were arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary with intent.

“They remain in custody, assisting police with their enquiries.”
