A CARELESS driver has walked free from court with a fine following a horror crash.

Kevin Porter, from Great Sankey, wrote off his Audi RS4 after crashing into a bus shelter and street furniture.

The make and model of the car were unrecognisable following the collision as a result of the damage caused.

The crash occurred on Queens Drive in Liverpool, heading southbound near to the entry slip road for the M62, at 11.55pm on December 7.

Both Porter and his female passenger somehow escaped without suffering any serious injuries, but they were taken to hospital to be checked over.

The 27-year-old, of Ketteringham Drive, was recently convicted of careless driving in connection to the collision.

He appeared before the courts and was handed a £500 fine, as well as five points on his driving licence.

A spokesman for Merseyside Police’s Roads Policing Unit said: “Porter destroyed his vehicle in December 2021 on Queens Drive.

“Miraculously, he and his passenger escaped without serious injuries.”
