A WAREHOUSE is set to be demolished and replaced with 14 new industrial units.

An application for planning permission submitted to Warrington Borough Council sought to bulldoze Tarmac Group’s storage depot and officer on Holmesfield Road in Howley.

And WBC has now granted its consent for the scheme.

Daresbury-based applicant PTS Property hopes to construct ‘14 light industrial units’ in place of the existing building, covering a footprint of 2,610m sq.

Proposals include 44 car parking spaces and are expected to create 56 full-time jobs.

Submission documents stated: “The proposal will provide an employment site in a fully sustainable commercial area of Warrington.

“The scheme is fully compliant with local and national planning policy and will not have an adverse impact on the locality.

“A mixed-use industrial estate will provide versatile accommodation for smaller businesses in the town and will contribute to the local economy.”

Plans were passed by the council on Thursday, June 16.
