A POP culture comedy show will be visiting one of Warrington town centre’s newest venues.
Attack of the 50ft Nerds Podcast will take its comedy podcast to Geek Retreat, a new events hub on Crown Street, and transform it into a live format for the public.
Lead host of the show, Mike Bell, said: “The show is now ten years old and what better way to celebrate the next chapter in the 50ft nerd story than to start performing what we like to call ‘Sit-Down Stand Up’.
“Geek Retreat Warrington is the perfect venue for us and it’s almost as if it were tailor-made for our audience.”
Attack of the 50ft Nerds formed a decade ago when hosts Mike Bell and Amara Wears met at a comedy night in Manchester.
A short while after the show launched, they added ‘Third Nerd’ Paul Griggs to the line-up as their resident Doctor Who expert, having previously been the group coordinator for the Liverpool chapter of the Doctor Who Appreciation Society.

Now, they cover all aspects of pop culture including movies, comics, TV shows, ‘Geekdom’ and news stories from across the world and will be doing so at Geek Retreat on Sunday, June 26.
