A BIRCHWOOD business has raised thousands of pounds for Warrington-based homeless charity, Room at the Inn.

Miller Homes, of Birchwood Business Park, began fundraising for Room at the Inn by donating £1 for every mile walked by its staff - and they totalled more than 3,000 miles.

Overall, Miller Homes have donated £3,151 to the charity, which aims to provide daytime assistance to the homeless and vulnerable in the region, as well as providing temporary accommodation for those who would otherwise be homeless.

The fundrasiing team took to the challenge throughout April, and Ian Smith, Managing Director of Miller Homes North West said: "It's wonderful to be able to give this donation to a charity that helps those who don't have somewhere safe to stay.

"Especially knowing all of it was raised by our brilliant and selfless team, they should be really proud!"

Room at the Inn's chairperson, Selina Miller, said: "We were so thankful that Miller Homes chose us as their charity to raise money for, over £3,000 will make such a difference to our organisation and will enable us to continue supporting vulnerable people across Warrington."
