WORK has started on building an extra level of apartments at a huge Latchford complex.
Much of the work on the flats on Station Road by the Manchester Ship Canal is now complete.
Now developers are working on adding an extra layer of flats to the block closest to the Cantilever Bridge.
It would see nine new apartments added, creating 198 in total.
Documents stated: "Every single apartment is assessed to ensure the highest standards of design and the optimum space provision i.e. larger lounges and bedrooms in lieu of corridors.
"All accommodation is accessible and incorporates a range of design features providing benefits to the residents as well as the wider environment.
"The developer aims to provide excellent high quality accommodation at affordable rents by providing higher than average space standards, light and airy rooms, a balcony and a highly supportive resident services."
Residents have already moved into the two other blocks on the site.
