A NEW alpaca shelter can be built on a Thelwall farm.

A scheme has been approved for a 24 unit, timber-framed alpaca field shelter and ancillary car parking located on the north-eastern corner of a field, near the Trans Pennine Trail and Lymm Road.

The site, run by the Egerton Trust, has an existing planning permission for a field shelter for up to 12 alpacas; however, the development proposed includes an access to the new field shelter.

However the land will be used for grazing alpacas only (agricultural use).

Plans have been amended to remove all reference to alpaca walks and to reduce the amount of land proposed for the parking area in the north east corner.

The agent has confirmed that should a future public use be proposed for the site, a planning application will be submitted in due course.
