POLICE are continuing to appeal for information after a nine-year-old boy was seriously injured after being in collision with a car while riding his bike.

Police were called at just before 5.30pm on Sunday, May 15, to reports the boy had been riding his bike on Kingsway, Prescot, between the junctions of Ash Grove and Shaw Lane, when he was involved in the collision with a grey Ford Fiesta.

The boy, who sustained a head injury, was taken by the driver, a man, to his home address and then taken to Alder Hey Children’s Hospital in a critical condition.

He remains in hospital and is currently "in a serious but stable condition", police saiy.

The driver is assisting police with inquiries into the incident.

On Monday morning, May 16, police issued a fresh appeal for information and witnesses of the incident.
