A MAN charged with an attempted robbery of a bakery in Whiston will face a Crown Court next month.

At around 11.25am on Thursday, May 5, officers were called to an attempted robbery at Waterfields on Greenes Road.

It was reported that a man had entered the premises armed with a knife and demanding money from the till. 

He reportedly left the bakery empty-handed and no one was injured during the incident.

Connor Lunt, of Dragon Lane, Whiston was arrested on Saturday, 7 May, and has been charged with attempted robbery. 

He appeared at Liverpool, Knowsley and St Helens Magistrates’ Court on Monday, May 9.

The case was sent to Liverpool Crown Court where Lunt is next due to appear on June 6.

The 26-year-old was given conditional bail until then.
