COUNCILLORS have approved plans to develop three new properties.

Proposals to erect three properties, off Withington Avenue, along with associated works including landscaping, visitor parking and a communal area, came before the development management committee at its recent meeting.

The application had been recommended for approval subject to conditions.

The application site related to part of an L-shaped linear strip of grassed land to the north east of Culcheth Hall Barns, which is a small gated community accessed via a short private drive at the top of Withington Avenue.

The site consists of a U-shaped barn converted into a number of flats, with a central courtyard to the south west.

The report to the committee said the character of the small gated community is an ‘aesthetic and well-designed mix’ of traditional, bespoke modern and spacious green space.

The development proposed was for the erection of three dwellings on the mid northern part of the linear grassed strip, plus associated works including a three-vehicle carport, relocation of an existing bin store, landscaping and six communal visitor parking spaces.
