TAKE a look around the new town centre sports bar in Warrington town centre.

The Brass Monkey, in Cairo Street, is the first of the Hive WA1 offerings and it is based in the former Fat Cat Ball Room unit.

It opens as a sports bar and nightclub as well as providing a one-stop shop for a day and night out.

“We’ve taken a look in the town and what’s working and we wanted to provide somewhere that has everything all under one roof," a spokesperson for the bar said.

“The sports, music and live performances do well for us but we are going to take it down the club route because Warrington’s not really got a dedicated nightclub that can cater for the day trade as well.

“We are going heavy on the sport but when the lights go down the music goes up."

There are plans for food nibbles at the end of the year but for now, those behind the bar are focused on making it the best it can be.

The bar also has a roster of DJs and artists performing in the coming months.

They continued: “There is a lot of development in the building as well and we are honoured to get the first unit and be fully open.

“Once the whole project is complete and the front end of Cairo Street is finished I think people are going to stop and stare and it will be the newest part of Warrington.

“We want to keep people in one place and we do feel like we cater for everything with the amusements, the games and the pool tables.

“We want the best of everything – we have had this design where everywhere you sit you can either hear something or see something so there is something going on wherever you look.

“We have kept everything close-knit and it’s comfortable to be in here."

The bar and club is open Tuesday - Sunday.
