A FORMER public toilet block has been demolished, with the site set to be used for a new apartments development.
The former WC on Bluecoat Street in Orford, at the junction with Winwick Road, has been bulldozed ahead of the construction of a three-storey block of flats.
Warrington Borough Council granted Bolton-based Bishops Rock Properties planning permission to build six two-bedroom residential units on the plot – located opposite the old St Ann’s Church, the grade two-listed building now being used as the North West Face climbing centre – back in 2019.
A similar scheme was withdrawn in 2016, but a second application was lodged two years later and subsequently approved.
