A WARRINGTON nightclub has gone viral on TikTok after its cup and bottle stoppers video was seen more than 14 million times.

PJs, based in Bridge Street, posted two videos to make customers aware that they had the stoppers for both glass and bottled drinks – and the second one went ‘crazy’ gaining 787,000 likes.

“We thought we will do a video and then people can know that we have got them,” said bar manager Jenny Keepe.

“It reached a big following and then we did another one for people that have bottles because people might think about them too.

“We did that and within the hours, the views were coming in at thousands per minute – it was crazy.

“Obviously there were lots of nice comments but there is always a negative with a positive.

“There were people saying it was amazing and then you have someone saying ‘shouldn’t have to do this’ but at least we are doing it.

“I think quite a few of the bars are doing it now.”

The stoppers were given to bars by the police at a meeting last month to assist with keeping customers safe.

The 30-year-old continued: “That was great because they are really dear to buy.

“They aren’t cheap.”

Jenny, who has been the manager for one year, says that despite no spiking issues, it is important to be one step ahead in bars by taking precautions.

“If people think ‘I can go in there and feel safe’, that’s good,” added Jenny.

“Especially for the younger ones that have just turned 18 and never been out before but they have watched the news and dread going out.

“Maybe every other drink that is sold has a stop top or a spikey so that makes people feel safer.”
