AN AUTHOR from Culcheth is set to donate royalties from sales of his debut novel to a Ukrainian humanitarian appeal.

Chris Vobe's novel, The Water Tower, was released in October last year, and he has pledged that 50 per cent of all profits from sales of the book (between March 1st and June 16th) will go to CAFOD's Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal.

The author said he chose those dates because one is his birthday, and the other is the when parts of his novel are set.

Chris said: "As we watch the heart-breaking scenes unfold there, I want to play my part in helping to deliver support and aid to those who need it most.”

The Water Tower has two volumes, with the second one being rated four-stars on Amazon - one reader said she particularly enjoyed the cliffhanger of an ending.

Chris added: "Over five million people have fled their homes to escape the conflict and millions more have been internally displayed. Homes, schools and hospitals have been destroyed.

"The work that CAFOD undertake, therefore, is vital in helping to support the increasing number of Ukranian families who are in desperate need of food, shelter and healthcare."

Chris' novel follows the trials and tribulations of four main characters: Adam, Victoria, Clarissa, and Hilda.

The novel can be purchased on Amazon as a paperback, hardcover, or as a digital version.

The digital version comprises both volumes of the story, and maximises the profits going towards the Ukrainian appeal.

Chris continued: "I'm enormously grateful to everyone who has bought, downloaded and enjoyed The Water Tower since its release.

"It was always destined to be a difficult story to tell, but the response from readers has been remarkable and humbling in equal measure, and has exceeded even my wildest expectations."
