WARRINGTON Borough Council spent more than £11,300 on Christmas trees this year.
Combined figures for January and February show that the total amount of council money spent was almost £45 million.
This does not include any council spending on costs less than £500.
In January alone, Warrington Borough Council spent £16,490 on legal fees and costs.
The council also spent nearly £12,000 on uniforms, and almost £3,000 on furniture in January.
Amongst other payments, the council spent £25,500 on a local theatre company, and £12,000 in Covid relief funds to JD Wetherspoon, and the same to Marstons.
The council spent over £300,000 on building work at Bridgewater High School and Priestley College in February.
Costs for petrol, diesel, and gas came to £97,463.56 in February alone - meanwhile, payments for computers and services from Dell amounted to £108,000 in the same month.
February this year saw the largest amount of spending from the council for a number of months.
Some of the largest costs came from the council's contribution to Cheshire Fire and Police.
Cheshire Fire received £559,530 from Warrington Borough Council in February, whilst the Police received a combined total of £2.8 million across the two months.
