PLANS to convert a historic pub into a restaurant have been approved.
Warrington Borough Council has granted planning permission for the conversion of the Coach and Horses in Sankey Bridges.
Proposals will see an outbuilding which is currently used for storage repurposed as a space for diners, as well as the replacement of the existing canopy in the beer garden and the installation of a new storage container-style structure to be used as a kitchen.
The Victorian building, on Old Liverpool Road, was previously listed for sale at an asking price of £350,000 last summer.
Opening hours of 9am to 11.30pm from Sunday to Friday and until midnight on Saturdays are stated in the submission.
Application documents added: “The application proposal seeks the conversion of property from a pub and storage area to a restaurant.
“The existing canopy structure will be removed and the proposed kitchen area will be placed on the garden, with a grey aluminium portable structure and double-glazed sliding windows. The structure will be fully enclosed with sliding windows in the front.
“This structure will be removable and without foundation.
“The first floor of the property will be used as a storage of the restaurant. The existing storage buildings and pub area will be using as restaurant seating area.”
WBC gave its consent for the scheme on Friday, April 8.
