CHANGES to the hours of a popular Stockton Heath drinking spot have been agreed, despite objections from neighbours.

Council planners have agreed that Corks Out on London Road can open until 11pm on Monday to Thursday, until midnight on Fridays and Saturdays and 9pm on Sundays and bank holidays.

However if the roof is open on the conservatory, it will have to close at 9pm on Monday to Thursday, 10pm on Fridays and Saturdays and 8pm on Sundays and bank holidays.

Three neighbours objected to the hours.

One said " With the drinking up time allowed people are on the premises for a good one to one and a half hours after the official closing time. By extending the hours, particularly to midnight we will have to suffer noise until 1.30-2am the morning."

Another said the bar caused "extreme distress".

They added "It was the equivalent of living next door to someone that had a wild party every night of the year, without any consideration for the neighbours that live next door. I have made complained so many times to the council before."

However Warrington Borough Council has agreed the application.
