A POPULAR town centre Wetherspoon pub has been sold.
A deal has been sealed to sell The Looking Glass, based in Buttermarket Street, and it is set to close on Sunday, March 20.
The change of hands is understood to take place on Friday, March 25.
The buyer is unknown.
No price was attached to the listing, which informs that the price is available on application.
The pub is one of two which are part of the Wetherspoon chain located in the town centre, along with The Friar Penketh on Barbauld Street.
It appeared for sale on property website Rightmove back in November 2021 and is described as ‘a large prominent end of terrace two-storey brick building under a multi pitched slate roof’.
The Warrington Guardian contacted Wetherspoon for a comment regarding the reasons behind the sale listing and what it is set to be but received no response.
It is marketed by Savills and they chose not to comment on the matter.
