Kingsway Bridge was closed due to a police incident last night, Thursday
A MAJOR route through the town was closed last night due to a police incident.
Cheshire Police received reports of concerns for the safety of a woman on Kingsway Bridge shortly after 10.30pm yesterday, Thursday.
Kingsway South was shut for a period as a precaution while emergency services dealt with the incident.
The woman was later taken to hospital for checks.
A force spokesman said: “Officers were called just after 10.40pm on Thursday, March 3, following reports of a concern for the safety of a woman.
“Police attended Kingsway Bridge and spoke with the woman.
“She was taken to hospital for further checks.
“Road closures were put in place as a precaution.”
