Firefighters were called to the M62 after a van caught fire in the early hours of the morning
AN engine fault caused a van to catch fire on the motorway.
Firefighters were called to the M62 shortly after 4am on Monday after a vehicle caught fire between junctions eight and nine.
The vehicle was on the hard should between Burtonwood and Winwick on the westbound carriageway.
Crews used a thermal imaging camera to monitor the temperature of the van.
The inside lane of the motorway was closed whilst crews fought the fire.
Firefighters from Warrington, Penketh and Lymm attended the incident.
