A SANKEY Bridges school has been working with charities to provide essential items to pupils and their families.

Evelyn Street Primary School wanted to support the school’s families in what has been a difficult time for many.

With the help of various charities, they were able to supply new uniforms, shoes, hats, gloves and scarves.

The school work with a shoe company who provided them with new school shoes and Orford Food Bank supplied the school with items such as coats and uniform.

Care UK Charity also provided the school with an abundance of gloves, hats and scarves.

Pupils at the school also took part in a food drive where they were able to donate items to Warrington Food Bank.

Learning mentor, Jacqueline Breeze, said: “We have been overwhelmed with the amount of work Charities, specifically Orford Foodbank Community and Care UK Charity has in place to help people in need.

“They go above and beyond to help us go above and beyond for our children in our community.

“They are angels!”

Evelyn Street Primary School staff also worked hard with UNICEF UK – who work with schools to provide a safe and inspiring place for children to learn.

The school received a Bronze Award from UNICEF as a Rights Committed School.

It is currently implanting a ‘Theory of Change’ where children will learn about things such as rights, culture of respect, and self-esteem.
